Good day, friends.
Recently I have been reading The Ragamuffin Gospel, by Brennan Manning, and boy has it sure been rocking my soul. In the book's forward, a few individuals share how radical Manning's book is, and how unlike others it is. I absolutely love how honest his words are, and how much of a desire he has for others to have a true view of God as well as how expansive is Jesus' grace. It's been an awesome read, and I've been so thankful to read something so fresh, that has given me a totally new perspective on a Creator God that continues to love furiously.
More to come on what I've been learning from this book as a whole, but I want to share about the part I read this morning!

Upon reading this morning, the word has rung out among the rest is wonder.
I am not one who wonders well. And I don't mean a reasonable pondering or questioning, but what I mean is a wide-eyed, mouth-opened expression of awe. It is easy for me to often feel complacent, seemingly content like I 'get' everything around me. That does not leave a whole lot of space to be awe-inspired. However, this book has challenged me to look at God as well as his created world with a new child-like wonder.
Here's a quote I dig:
"So often we religious people walk amid the beauty and bounty of nature and we talk nonstop. We miss the panorama of color and sound and smell. We might as well have remained indoors in our closed, artificially lit living rooms. Nature's lessons are lost and the opportunity to be wrapped in silent wonder before the God of creation passes...
Creation doesn't calm our troubled spirts, restore our perspective, or delight us ine very part of our being. It reminds us instead of mundane chores...we must rediscover the gospel of grace and the world of grace." - (Chapter 5, The Ragamuffin Gospel)
Currently I'm in Colorado Springs, where Pikes Peak and a ridge of mountains stands tall amongst the city, where natural beauty is so easy to find. Yet, as my family visits relatives out here each winter, I am surprised that I get used to mountain vistas, or switch-back drives that I've done before become everyday scenery.
However, our hike the other day was different. New place, new views, and new perspective, every turn of the hike was full of wonder. I'm thankful for a new place and opportunity to see things clearly. Aaaaand instead of getting as poetic as I can to describe that awesome day to you, I'll to show you a video I made! Half way through the hike I felt like getting creative. Here are the fruits. Enjoy friends! I had a lot of fun making it.
